Cannot find module (SNMPv2-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Recently I was working with SNMP.
First I installed snmp in Centos 6.5, in which a configuration is required for the SNMP Agent. After configuration, start the snmp agent process.
We need to issue snmpwalk to get metrics of the System and command is as follows.
snmpwalk -v2c -c WINDOWS 10.184.48.102
where,
-v stands for version of SNMP
-c stands for community string
followed by the IP Address of the SNMP Agent. Fortunately snmpwalk worked worked in Centos 6.5.
I tried installing in snmp in debian based system ( BOSS )
When I issued snmpwalk, I got a series of error like
Cannot find module (SNMPv2-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Again community forums suggested to export some environmental variables
Refer this link, http://sourceforge.net/p/net-snmp/mailman/message/16732723/
which suggests the above solution.
Again a blog post mentioned here,
http://www.podciborski.co.uk/miscellaneous/snmp-cannot-find-module/
suggested to install snmp-mibs-downloader, as it is not free.
So Install,
snmpd
snmp-mibs-downloader
After installing,I restarted snmp agent and fortunately snmpwalk worked.
Also Be sure that iptables don't block the default port number of SNMP Agent( Port No. 161 - tcp / udp )
